The United States split the singles matches Saturday and edged Europe, 13-11, to claim the Palmer Cup at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland.
It was the Americans' first win on European soil since 2002, and the victory also gave Team USA a 7-6-1 advantage in the series.
Each side won four singles matches on the final day of competition, as American David Chung improved his record to 4-0 and Scott Langley delivered the clinching point for Team USA.

Ole Miss All-American golfer Jonathan Randolph helped the United States take an early 6-2 lead against Europe in the Palmer Cup, winning both his morning and afternoon matches Thursday.
The competition was all square (2-2) after the morning four-ball matches at the Royal Portrush Golf Club, but the U.S. gained points from the first two matches out in the afternoon and ended up winning the final two for the 6-2 lead.

"The finish is very disappointing," said head coach Buddy Alexander.
"The guys battled back at the end but it's definitely disappointing
not to advance to match play. I think we would've been extremely tough
to beat in match play. Mostly I feel bad for the seniors. We worked hard
and I thought we would get it done. To come this far and not advance is
devastating."
